Village Bible Church desires to be a family of growing believers committed to glorifying God by reaching our world with the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.
What exactly does it mean to be a family of growing believers? In 1 Corinthians 12 we read, “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body.” As God weaves together the fabric of Village Bible Church, He brings together unique gifts. We are all different and yet are all very important to the full functioning of the body of Christ –the church. Individually we are disconnected parts, but united we are a family that God can use to bring glory to Himself in a powerful way.
In addition, 1 Peter 4:10 tells us that “each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” God has not placed you into the VBC family to be an observer but rather to be a participant – to serve. He has given you gifts and purposes that are uniquely yours.
Why does God weave together a family having unique gifts and expect each of us to use our gifts? It’s not because He can’t complete His plans without our help! He doesn’t need us but He created us to need both Him and one another. We’re called to unite and serve together in the name Christ. That’s how designed us to function.
