2018-2019 Village Kids Classes Resume
September 23, 8:00am
We know that there is a short span of time in which children form their identities. Everything about a child is incredibly impressionable.
We strive to take every opportunity to encourage children to understand, internalize, and live out what the Bible says. Because the Bible is all about Jesus, that's our desire for the children of Village. We want them to grow up with Jesus as their identity.
After you enter the main door, go to your left towards our Family Life Center, and stop at our Village Kids Desk, one of our hosts will help you complete a registration form (contact information, birthdates, and grades for each child), print name tags for your children, and find their classrooms. On future Sunday, your family can check-in at any Village Kids kiosks.
Our nursery ministry seeks to provide a safe, God-centered atmosphere for the youngest members of our church family by our friendly team of background-checked volunteers. We welcome newborns through 2-year-olds while parents participate in the multitude of opportunities available.
If your child ever needs you while in the nursery, we'll contact you via our phone, our church pager system, or a nursery representative will locate you in the service.
We have a nursing room available during all worship services. The nursing room is next to the preschool registration station in the Village kids hallway. Ask a nursery volunteer or usher for directions. The worship service feed is conveniently shown on the TV!
We love the opportunity to partner with parents in teaching kids God's Amazing Word! Our preschool classes are open to kids who are 3 years old by 9/1/18 and potty-trained through kids who are not yet in kindergarten.
Prior to being dropped off in class, all preschool students must receive a name badge/security sticker at one of our check-in stations each week. Our preschool classes begin with drop-offs in Room 120. Our Christ-centered interactive lessons from Lifeway's Gospel Project for Kids include a morning divided into 3 sessions. Students will have a Bible Story session (Room 120), with the lesson of the day being reinforced through their craft session (Room 119) and their organized games session (Room 121). Our mornings also include a snack, singing, and a brief kids' video of our daily lesson.
We are blessed with an outstanding group of volunteers who love kids, who love Jesus, and who love teaching God's Amazing Word to our little ones!
Our Kindergarten through 5th grade students have classes available during both services during the school year. (Summer classes are available through students entering 3rd grade.) It is our desire to provide families the opportunity to worship together during the opening of each Sunday Worship Service in the sanctuary. Not only do our elementary-aged kids have the opportunity to participate in a time of worship singing with their families, but they also witness the baptisms and testimonies of many adults and students and hear reports from our missionaries.
Students will be dismissed to the gym prior to the start of the sermon. Teachers will meet with their students in the gym and take them to their classes each Sunday morning. K - 2nd grade students will need to picked up by their parents at the end of classes. 3rd - 5th grade students will be dismissed at the end of class to find their parents.
During both services, our kids will sit under the leadership of great teachers who know and love the Lord. We use LifeWay's Gospel Project for Kids curriculum. This Christ-centered class time walks kids through a specific passage of Scripture, with these stories coming to life through videos, activities, and more. Parents are emailed weekly with announcements for the week and the lesson/lesson helps for the week to come. Our PK - 5th grade students are studying the same lesson each week, We'd love for your to be reviewing these lessons at home and preparing for the lesson to come by providing these home Bible studies for you to use. We are blessed with these opportunities to partner with parents in challenging our kids to trust God, make wise choices and build lasting friendships.
Awana is part of our Sunday evening Generations ministry which takes place September through May. Awana is a Bible-centered program for children age 3 years through 6th grade that focuses on learning and memorizing God's Word in a fun atmosphere. Each week, the purpose of Awana is to support parents in providing consistent, positive teaching and training that stresses strong moral and spiritual values. Our clubbers learn about the reality of God and the truth of the Bible.
Cubbies is fun with a purpose to reach and train kids for Jesus Christ. Games, puppets, crafts, awards, and other activities are part of exciting weekly lessons. Cubbies must be 3 years old by September 1 and be potty-trained.
Sparks club combines learning with fun to create an atmosphere of excitement that takes kids deeper in to God's Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the Gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ.
The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach kids the truth of God's Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today's young people will become tomorrow's church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow, today.
Bridge is our ministry for 4th and 5th grade students. During this important transitional stage in development, we want to provide a place for students to grow together and in their understanding of God's plan for their growth. Upcoming bridge events can be found below.
All gatherings of The Bridge will run from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. in the gym. Please enter through the gym doors on the east side of our Sugar Grove Campus.
Each year we spend an unforgettable week together learning songs, playing games, creating crafts, eating snacks, making friends, and learning about God.
Our 2019 VBS will run from July 8 - 12, 2019. Mark your calendars to join us. Online registration will open in early 2019.
