Village Blog

I arrived safely in Kigali, Rwanda with all my luggage. I'll be in Uganda visiting sponsored children and guardians for the next two weeks, but I am starting my time in Rwanda with my friend and former neighbor, Martha Newton, who is now is a full-time missionary at Rafiki Village in Kigali, Rwanda. I think we often forget how much missionaries just need a friend! It was wonderful to see her and we chatted all the way back to the Village. I am thankful for the opportunity to be here for a couple days and minister to Martha. It is healthy for her to be able to share the joys and struggles of her missionary life with a friend. I am happy to serve her in that way.

Linda Mallette is at the Rafiki Village in Tanzania with Phil and Sara Nickels, and I'm at the Rafiki Village in Rwanda with Martha. We will join together in Kigali on Tuesday evening and start the next phase of our trip - serving with Juna Amagara Ministries in Uganda, ministering with Lisa O'Brien, and meeting with the 115 children sponsored by families from Village Bible Church.

I thank you for your prayers for our ministry time in Africa. As well as for our families back home.
