Day 2 in Haiti...cold bucket shower feels so great after long day in hot, humid 95 degree heat!

Yesterday we fed about 100 kids, most of whom are orphans and child slaves...some hadn't eaten in days...some took food home for family instead of eating...we had heavy hearts about that...but we are hopeful that we are making a difference in their lives.

They run to us and want to be held, touched, played with! They are adorable. They drink water from a little plastic bag (in pics) by biting a hole one one side. Great total body workout- climbing up the mtn, carrying kids, running across busy street (cars so not wait for pedestrians!), carrying heavy buckets of water outside after doing dishes! Awesome worship services at nearby church (again, up the mtn)..they sing in French, but we knew almost all the songs ...great day! Our team is unified and strong, and God was glorified today! Thanks for praying and supporting us.

Great first two days in Haiti. It's fun to see the joy that comes to the kids when they see our team ready to play and spend time with them.

Most just long to be held and don't want to let go.

On Saturday we did our Joseph skit for the kids (Max was Joseph, Riley a great goat...), played with kids and joined many to watch a Respire (the school we're here serving) team play in a soccer match. I think we had more fun trying to talk with the kids than actually watching the game. It's not easy to speak Creole though and most do not speak English.... a challenge to be sure!

Today was church and soon off to spend the afternoon with kids. More if we get another internet connection, that's pretty rare...

Pray for our endurance in the heat.. It's really hot and sleeping is pretty tough. Not sure if you get used to it over time, but we certainly haven't yet!
