Halftime Huddle: An Introduction to End Times

Passage: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

1.  God addresses the end times for the good of His people.
       •  So we have perspective about the future (4:13a)
       •  So we have hope in hard times (4:13–14)
       •  So we have expectation of being with God for eternity (4:15–17)

2.  God's revelation in Daniel 7–12 and Revelation has been interpreted in four
     main ways.
       •  Idealist View: The prophecies are merely symbolic.
       •  Preterist View: The prophecies were fulfilled in the first century.
       •  Historist View: The prophecies are being fulfilled throughout history.
       •  Futurist View: The prophecies will be fulfilled in the future.

3.  We'll explore Daniel 7–12 and end times from the perspective of historic premillenialism.
       •  With a charitable posture
       •  For a consistent interpretation
       •  To celebrate God's plans
